From January to March 2025, Taipei City recorded 273 economic crime cases, a 2.2-fold increase (188 more cases) compared to the same period last year. Among them, 119 cases (43.6%) involved intellectual property infringement, making it the most common type.
 
A total of 473 suspects were apprehended, up 1.7 times from last year, with total seized value reaching NT$1.18 billion—a 2.1-fold increase. Cases involving intellectual property are mainly related to trademark infringement (68 cases, 57.1%). Cases related to anti-money laundering (113 cases, 41.4%) and financial crimes (41 cases, 15%) followed.
 
The city government continues to crack down on economic crimes, which have evolved with social and economic changes, posing threats to financial markets and public interests.
